Who We Are
The Proud Heroes community aims to provide a safe space for LGBTQIA+ employees and allies alike. We do this through organising trainings, hosting monthly meetings, cooperating with LGBTQIA+ organisations, creating a sense of belonging, and providing education on a range of topics. We have been active since 2019 and have continuously seen our community grow and flourish into a closely knit network spanning all the colours of the rainbow.
Our Mission
Our community is driven by our value; we are Heroes because we care, and we want every LGBTQIA+ and allyLGBTQIOA+ Hero to feel that Delivery Hero is a truly inclusive workplace, where they belong, can be themselves and have a voice. Further, we are proud to embody the motto of our Manifesto: United We Stand, United We Fight, United We Dance!
Our Manifesto
We STAND together, supporting one another in our unique experiences as LGBTQIA+ people, both professionally and personally. We FIGHT together, advocating for change inside and outside of Delivery Hero, for safer, more welcoming spaces and advancement in LGBTQIA+ rights and visibility. We DANCE together, celebrating our community, the perspectives we offer to the world, the battle's already won, and in mutual celebration of who we are.
Our Projects
Berlin Pride month of course is a massive event for us, however we celebrate our queer community throughout the year. Whether it’s a 'lunch and learn' to celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility, one of our community members sharing their story for Lesbian Visibility Day, to singing our hearts out at Drag Karaoke, or running a company wide session on Inclusive Language – to us, every month is Pride Month and we have many avenues in which we connect and share.
While we love to have fun at our gatherings, another key pillar in our community is continuing to educate each other on important LGBTQIA+ topics and history. For example, we have been attending Queer Walking Tours to learn more about our communities history in Berlin, and have collectively created a Queer Library, including books with a wealth of intersectional stories (both fiction and nonfiction) that all Heroes can borrow and learn more about the LGBTQIA+ experience.

Testimonials
Phil Koch (He/Him) Senior Brand Research Manager
Having previously worked at companies where there was no visibility for our community and Pride month was completely overlooked, the Proud Heroes group was actually one of the main reasons why I decided to apply to and join DH. While DH already fosters an inclusive work environment where I can be myself without needing to explain my life, or think twice about “coming out” in conversation, having this extra safe-space where you can interact with like-minded people from your own community is like the cherry on the cake. Our meet-ups, discussions and after-work activities allow us to not only grow and reflect on ourselves, but also enjoy and celebrate our wonderful community. Even though all our past experiences have been different and we’ve each had to navigate our own personal path, being connected in our Pride and knowing we have each other’s backs strengthens our community and provides a work environment which we can all be our best selves in

“We are Heroes because we care” - one of 3 main company values embraces more than just human empathy. It also gives a feeling of security and sense of inclusion to the members of LGBTQIA+ community, as well as its allies and supporters. Being the Proud Hero means thinking about the impact of your actions and behavior on others. Pride at Delivery Hero is not limited to a rainbow logo or a sticker on social media platforms - it’s, above all else, acceptance and respect for every employee, no matter what their sexual and gender identities are.
