Inside Delivery Hero’s ESG Reporting Engine

Posting date: 17/08/2026

Global targets. Everyday action. Real progress.

Delivery Hero is celebrating major milestones across global ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) benchmarks. For the first time in 2025, we entered CDP’s Climate Change Leadership band with an A- rating, alongside earning stronger performance assessments from S&P Global, MSCI, and Sustainalytics.

These ratings show how transparent we are about our impact, how we manage environmental and social risks, and how sustainability is built into our everyday work.

While traditional ESG reports drop once a year, keeping this engine running is a year-round effort and we’re already preparing to submit our disclosures for the 2026 year.

Shared Mission Across Teams

Delivering non-financial reporting at Delivery Hero takes several teams working closely together.

  • The Non-Financial Reporting Team, operating out of the Chief Financial Officer’s team, owns the process end-to-end — bringing financial-level discipline to tracking, auditing, and disclosing sustainability metrics across approximately 65 markets.
  • The Sustainability Team acts as the experts and central support function on environmental and key social topics. They ensure these topics are accurately captured and meaningfully reflected in our disclosures, while directly driving the ESG priorities that carry the closest attention of the Management Board.
  • Underpinning both is a network of Topic Owners embedded across People, Compliance, Risk, Legal, Product and Tech and beyond, the specialists accountable for their respective material topics and the primary source of on-the-ground data and execution.

Together, these functions in central and across brands ensure that what Delivery Hero reports is not only rigorous and auditable, but a true reflection of the work happening across our global operations.

"While reporting standards give us a playbook, the pace of framework evolution and rating methodology changes," says Laura Diaconescu, Senior Director Strategy for the CFO Office.

"We're constantly working to stay ahead of the sometimes fragmented expectations of regulators, investors, NGOs, and customers."

Alongside a rigorous internal reporting and audit process, the teams continuously monitor and submit data for various external ESG ratings throughout the year.

What this means for Delivery Hero

Our evolved approach creates a clearer picture of ESG performance across the business and our reliable insights empower stakeholders to shape a more sustainable ecosystem.

"For me, the real value of non-financial reporting isn't in the report itself, it's in what we do with it,” explains Dimitra Theodoropulos, Director Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility.

"It should actively inform our long-term strategy, hold us accountable to the issues that matter most, and drive genuine change from the inside out, rather than simply documenting what has already happened."

Far from just a compliance exercise, each reporting cycle highlights the progress of our ESG initiatives and what is material, showing where things are working well, and where we need to redirect our strategy.

To refine priorities and ensure we continue to capture the right data from the right sources, Delivery Hero monitors ESG priorities directly from many key stakeholders, including media, governments, riders, partners, investors, as well as via ESG ratings and reporting disclosures.

Alongside this, the teams stay actively engaged externally, participating in industry discussions and roundtables that provide a useful benchmark for how expectations are evolving and where Delivery Hero can continue to lead in this area.

Looking Ahead: Powered by Tech

The challenge isn't just reporting volume but also data integrity. Manual processes can't provide the auditability and traceability that regulators and auditors demand.

Our teams are actively looking toward technology to ease the burden, testing AI tools to streamline data collection, automate cross-market validation, and eliminate redundant manual workflows.

With sharper internal data, stronger structures, and emerging technology handling the heavy lifting, Delivery Hero is ready to set an even higher standard for global impact.
