Job description
We are looking for a (Legal) Data Engineer to join the Legal Operations team on our journey to optimize and automate our legal processes globally, regionally, and locally.
Design, build, and maintain integrations, connecting our primary legal platform, Onit, with tools used by our global legal and procurement teams, such as Ariba/SAP, Jira, Google Cloud, Slack, and DocuSign
Design scalable data pipelines, databases, and data models to support reporting, contract lifecycle management, legal matter management, and operational analytics
Design and implement AI-based solutions, for example by leveraging Google Enterprise and Vertex AI, and act as an internal AI and innovation consultant by driving workshops and proactively pitching use cases and solutions (“internal innovation sales”)
Ensure technical solutions are well documented, compliant, and aligned with legal and procurement strategies as well as local regulatory requirements
Automate end-to-end legal workflows using tools such as Google Apps Script (including macros), Google Cloud, and n8n
Partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation and process optimization, translating operational challenges into technical solutions
5+ years of experience in software engineering, scripting, automation, or integrations
Strong hands-on experience with Python and SQL; JavaScript is a plus
Experience designing and building data warehouses and system-to-system integrations, preferably within Google Cloud (e.g., Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, API Gateway); strong knowledge of best practices in security, authentication methods, and infrastructure is required
Exposure to or hands-on experience with AI/ML concepts or tools, particularly Vertex AI SDK and BigQuery; additional knowledge of Google ADK, RAG infrastructure, and prompt template management is a strong plus
Strong ownership and consultancy mindset, with the ability to prioritize based on business needs and work across multiple initiatives in a cross-functional, global, and multicultural team
Consultancy and/or Legal Tech experience is a plus
