Director, Software Engineering - (Logistics, Pricing and Data)

We are looking for a Director of Engineering, Pricing and Data - Logistics (all genders) to lead the Pricing and Data domains on our journey to always deliver amazing experiences.

In our Logistics Team, you’ll tackle high-impact challenges that make last-mile delivery efficient, affordable, and sustainable. Your work will directly improve experiences for riders, end customers, and merchants across the globe. Each enhancement you contribute will help Delivery Hero optimize delivery operations, supporting expansion into new areas like grocery and retail.

You’ll lead a team of 40+ engineers, data scientists, and managers to help offer prices to customers that maximize long-term profitable growth across all of Delivery Hero’s markets and help all teams across the Logistics organization work easily and impactfully with data and machine learning models. In this position you will work closely with product and business counterparts to influence pricing strategy across the business and report directly to the Vice President of the Logistics Customer Product Line.

Your mission:

• Support and develop a diverse and cross-functional tech team and its leaders to new heights of impact

• Build and deploy innovative pricing mechanisms and pricing management features to drive profitable growth 

• Work with regional managers and brand leadership across all markets  to support local needs with simple and scalable centralized product offerings

• Advance data and machine learning platforms that make Logistics an amazing home to use data and deploy models

• Experience leading large technical organizations through managers and senior individual contributors

• A track record of effective product-focused technical leadership and operating highly reliable, high throughput systems

• A technical background that allows you to go deep on important questions of architecture and strategy and promote a culture of engineering excellence

• Excellent stakeholder management and business understanding

Nice to have:

• Strong background in pricing science

• Substantial experience developing data engineering and ML systems

• Experience shipping, evangelizing, and evolving APIs to third parties
