Software Engineer (Python) - Global Recommendations

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing Recommendations domain to work on exciting projects like implementation of our own machine learning framework, integrating a feature store for supporting real-time data science requirements and the creation of complex data ingestion pipelines to support this!
In this role, you will work with data from global brands such as foodpanda, foodora, Glovo, Pedidosya, Talabat, Woowa and Yemeksepeti, operating in 48 countries and territories across Asia and Europe and play an important role in helping hungry customers order food for home delivery from their favourite restaurants based on their location.

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Work closely with data scientists and product managers to run experiments on new recommendation features

• Deploy low latency databases and datastores to support operational requirements of the recommender models

• Work with senior engineers to maintain our API Gateway

• Deploy and maintain ML models on our deployment framework that power recommendations on all pages of the application

• Enable and actively manage observability tools on all touch points within our systems

• At least 1 year of experience in software engineering.

• Strong understanding of software fundamentals, such as data structures and test-driven development.

• Ability to write clean, structured, and high-performance SQL and production-ready Python code with appropriate documentation.

• Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment with a growth mindset.

• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.

• Experience in one of the following: 

  • supporting an API endpoint or Gateway

  • deploying machine learning models at scale

  • GCP
