About the opportunity

We are on the lookout for a Manager, Software Engineering, Java/Kotlin - (Logistics, Pricing) to join the Logistics Customer Pricing team on our journey to always deliver amazing experiences.

In our Logistics Team, you’ll tackle high-impact challenges that make last-mile delivery efficient, affordable, and sustainable. Your work will directly improve experiences for riders, end customers, and merchants across the globe. Each enhancement you contribute will help Delivery Hero optimize delivery operations, supporting expansion into new areas like grocery and retail.

In this role, you would lead the Pricing Mechanism squad, who help us maintain a comprehensive, fast and reliable service that calculates pricing across all Delivery Hero brands, based on pricing strategies set up by our pricing managers.

  • Support an established team of engineers in their day-to-day development experience, personal development, and long-term career growth.

  • Own the execution and development of functionalities in small iterations that deliver value.

  • Ensure the high reliability of a low-latency high-throughput system that powers the delivery fees of 60+ countries and all Delivery Hero brands.

  • Stakeholder management across multiple brands of Delivery hero.

  • Drive project and tech strategy across the Domain.

  • Raise the Bar in operational excellence and product delivery.

  • Partner with your product counterpart and provide technical direction to your team, facilitating the design of feasible and iterative solutions aligned with the business needs.

  • Own the tech metrics and KPIs of your team, ensuring full visibility, tracking, and alerting.

  • Provide technical support for the design of solutions that are reliable, performing, cost-effective, and scalable to meet the business needs.


What you need to be successful

  • You are a knowledgeable technical guide who aligns with and supports product and business goals.

  • You are programing language agnostic with a clear understanding of core concepts, and paradigms, and can abstract this knowledge to multiple scenarios.

  • You are familiar with languages such as JVM technologies (Java/Kotlin).

  • You have experience working with IaaC setups, microservices architectures, and API based communication; most of our infrastructure runs on Kubernetes deployed in AWS.

  • You are a practical and resourceful technical guide who knows what is needed to achieve results.

  • You believe in cross-functional teams and have experience managing  projects and dependencies across multiple teams and stakeholders.

  • You empower others, and care about your team and your own personal and professional development.

Nice to have: 

  • You are familiar with A/B testing.

  • You have worked in Pricing topics.

  • You can be hands-on on demand to support and guide more junior developers.

  • You have worked with Data-science projects.
