Frontend Engineer, React - Quick Commerce

We’re hiring a Frontend Engineer to join the Quick Commerce Global Services team, powering Delivery Hero - based in Glovo, Barcelona.

YOUR MISSION

In this role, you’ll be part of a central team within Delivery Hero’s Global Services unit, shaping solutions that serve our entire global ecosystem, and your work will drive impact across Delivery Hero’s regional brands worldwide. You’ll be working with cross-functional teams to build scalable solutions that enhance customer experiences and operational excellence on a global scale. It’s a unique opportunity to combine Glovo’s vibrant, fast-paced culture with the reach and complexity of one of the world’s largest local delivery platforms.

• Working on our next generation platform to not only provide food for our hungry customers but also other daily urgent needs like drinks, fruits, snacks but also batteries.

• You are not shying away from building reliable, scalable systems with high concurrency and are always eager to learn new languages & technologies. Your decisions will make an impact since your ideas & efforts do matter.

• Eventually you are not afraid to build global systems which are used by thousands of people and constantly drive for excellence.

• Building efficient and elegant solutions for our new features with a bleeding edge technical stack (ES6, Typescript, React, Webpack).

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE

• Working experience with JavaScript (ES6+), Typescript and/or React.

• 3+ years of professional web application development knowledge.

• 3+ years of experience in working with agile methodologies.

• Eagerness to work in a fast-paced, fault-tolerant, agile environment on cross-functional teams.

• You are a pragmatic programmer who understands what is needed to get things done in a collaborative manner.

• You love to learn and constantly improve your own skills, and are not afraid to jump into new things.

• Write lean, semantic markup and CSS based on modern standards.

• You write unit, behavior, and integration tests for current and new scenarios with clean and well-documented code.

• You believe in cross-functional teams and know that responsibility does not end with deployment.

• You are running, maintaining & deploying your own code to production.

• You do not shy away from understanding backend-related logic.

• Fluent English communication skills.

Nice to have:

• Experience in delivering & running SPAs in fast-growing environment (deploy, caching, monitoring, analytics).

• Capability to successfully transfer knowledge to more junior people in the team.

• Deep understanding of service-oriented and microservices architectural patterns, troubleshooting methods and best practices.
