About the opportunity

As the Lead of Quick Commerce Operations for Hungary,  you will be responsible for leading day-to-day fulfillment operations, ensuring a seamless customer experience, and driving efficiency and growth through strategic planning and execution across the Q-Commerce business.

You will be part of the Q-Commerce leadership team, leading and optimizing the end-to-end operations of foodora market (dark stores) across Hungary. Your focus will be on operational excellence, scalability, and efficiency to deliver exceptional customer experiences while aligning with foodora’s strategic objectives.

This role is ideal for an experienced operator with a strong track record in e-commerce or retail operations, who thrives in fast-paced, data-driven environments and can manage large cross-functional teams while executing strategic initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the integrated operations strategy for foodora market, driving scalability, efficiency, and alignment with regional and global goals.
  • Oversee dark store ensuring high performance in picking, fulfillment, inventory management, and cost control through standardized processes and automation.
  • Ensure reliable, accurate, and timely service lead initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and reduce operational incidents.
  • Monitor OKRs and KPIs to measure performance, identify bottlenecks, and drive data-informed continuous improvement.
  • Lead store network planning and expansion, including location scouting, layout design, and cost-efficient real estate management.
  • Ensure full compliance with SOPs, health and safety standards, and local regulations; proactively identify risks and maintain contingency plans for business continuity.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Logistics, Tech, and Commercial teams to align operations, enable new launches, and optimize fulfillment performance.
  • Drive process improvements and automation to enhance speed, efficiency, and scalability
  • Build and lead high-performing teams that demonstrate ownership, collaboration, and accountability; foster a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.
  • Manage budgets, P&L levers, and cost efficiency to ensure sustainable growth and profitability.

What you need to be successful

  • Native-level proficiency in Hungarian
  • Advanced, business-fluent English skills
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in operational leadership
  • Commercial / e-commerce experience and Quick Commerce familiarity are strong advantages
  • Great analytical skills and experience in monitoring operational metrics
  • “B” category Driving License
