Staff Software Engineer (React/TypeScript) - Vendor Growth (All Genders)

About the role: 

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer (React) to join our Orders  tribe in the Vendor Growth Product Line. As a Staff Frontend expert, you will be responsible for our frontend microfrontend applications, and for driving technical excellence for frontend apps/plugins delivered by approximately 20 teams together, across multiple tribes. You will be hands-on with code and best practices related to architecture, deployments, stability, observability, and performance.

You will be one of the key technical leaders for this React MFE app and our legacy Angular app that we’re phasing out, so even though the official reporting line will be with the tribe lead, you will deliver and coordinate across more tribes.

Your mission:

• Extend the B2B Microfrontend platform to empower our partners to perform business-critical operations in real-time. 

• Your code will help restaurant owners and their staff to manage their delivery operations and process orders, which are at the heart of Delivery Hero’s business, on a daily basis.

• Implement new features and improve the user experience of existing solutions.

• Take ownership of all aspects of development for self service tools for managing the lifecycle of vendors and deliver solutions to local teams to manage complex processes via automation.

• Be data-driven, analyze the impact of features, make hypotheses and implement new solutions.

Your heroic skills:

• 7+ years of professional web application development experience.

• In-depth knowledge of TypeScript, including both functional and object-oriented programming styles.

• Proficiency in the modern React stack, with capabilities in handling side effects, styling, and testing. Openness to work within a broader frontend ecosystem (e.g., Angular) as needed.

• Extensive experience in writing tests and organizing the operational excellence process for multimodular applications with familiarity in various testing approaches and frameworks.

• Strong understanding of setting up alerting and observability/monitoring for critical Tier 1 applications.

• Strong understanding of deployment processes and CI/CD principles.

• Ability to monitor services and debug issues in production environments.

• Familiarity with and application of foundations of component-driven architecture.

• Proven ability to mentor junior developers and coordinate technical initiatives.

• Fluency in English.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Angular.

• Experience with Cloudflare and AWS (Specifically S3, Lambdas and Cloudfront)

• Experience with building or a good understanding of backend APIs and their design.
