About the opportunity

We are on the lookout for an experienced Senior Specialist, Product Operations to join us on our journey in delivering amazing experiences.

At the center of our marketplace is the Discovery organization. This team is currently building Search, Recommendation, and intent collection systems to power our brands like Foodpanda, Glovo, Pedidos Ya, Talabat - serving millions of requests every day. The systems we build are critical for our online marketplaces with high availability and performance requirements and drive meaningful commercial value. They require crafting control loops through data, machine learning, and online serving systems to serve millions of consumers worldwide.

  • Bridge the knowledge and communication gap between stakeholders from the different brands around the world and the Global Recommendation product & tech teams by serving as the primary product point of contact.

  • Be an ambassador of the global recommendation products by ensuring that all documentation on product vision, strategy, roadmap, and feature details is clearly communicated, understood and accessible to stakeholders in all brands.

  • Elicit and synthesise key problem statements and pain points with respect to recommendation experiences from the markets, and transform them into actionable product objectives and opportunities.

  • Spearhead product and design thinking frameworks and workshops that help to gather problem statements and customer needs from key business and product stakeholders in a structured and organised manner.

  • Distill and share product development updates to stakeholders across the world that are meaningfully concise. Support the creation of product marketing material for key features launched.

  • Conduct benchmarking and competitor analysis and share insights with product managers and stakeholders to ensure state-of-the-art product solutions for our customers.

  • Create and maintain structured processes to ensure bugs and new feature requests from product and business stakeholders in local markets are properly documented, considered, and resolved by the global recommendation product and tech teams.

  • Support the development of the global recommendation product roadmap in collaboration with product managers by working with product, design, analytics, tech and business stakeholders.

  • Analyse data and internal feedback to build solid business cases to support and justify feature development.

  • Monitor and facilitate implementation and integration projects involving multiple squads.

  • Develop & use product insights to influence stakeholders to ensure the best usage of our products across all markets.

What you need to be successful

  • 3+ years of experience working in web and mobile consumer products as a product/tech specialist, preferably in the e-commerce or food delivery space. Comfortable with a dynamic, fast-moving, and entrepreneurial environment being able to have an impact and influence early on.

  • Experience working in a product & tech environment and familiar with software development processes and related tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Miro). 

  • A flair for organisation and structure, with a keen eye for details and processes. Highly motivated team player with exceptional stakeholder management skills, very pragmatic and agile in handling and leading topics independently.

  • Good storytelling skills. Able to create effective documentation that connects details to a larger picture in a cohesive and coherent way. Can translate data to insights, and customer problem statements to broader objectives. Great verbal and written communication skills, with excellent English fluency. Able to effectively engage and influence stakeholders from different levels, cultures, and functions.

  • A passion for personalisation/recommendation experiences and an interest in how AI/ML solutions can be leveraged to solve customer problems. Experience in Search or Recommendation teams is a plus. Good analytical skills to size product opportunities and elicit meaningful insights from data. Experience with SQL/BigQuery or a strong desire to learn is a plus.

  • A passion for design excellence, usability & consumer appeal in products. A passion for building a great product & being successful with that product in the market. Good understanding of user experience and design thinking principles. Experience in product strategy, product management, or user experience research is a plus.
