About the opportunity

We are on the lookout for a Principal Global Payments professional to join the Global Payments Acceptance team. The Principal in Global Payments will be responsible for 30+ markets, driving our global partnerships, supporting strategy execution, and leading commercial initiatives that impact payment performance, cost efficiency, and scalability. The Principal will also act as a central owner for strategic relationships with key payment partners and work cross-functionally with product, legal, finance, compliance, and regional teams to deliver measurable impact across the business.

 

  • Lead global and regional payment partner strategy by conducting market scans, managing RFPs, and building business cases for new payment solutions (ie, payment methods, features etc).
     
  • Own end-to-end partner relationships with global payment providers, overseeing negotiations, contracts, and cross-functional alignment.
     
  • Support product discovery and integrations by advising on user flows and coordinating technical implementation and rollout with internal teams.
     
  • Align regional and global strategies by tracking KPIs, managing commitments, and ensuring execution of key initiatives across regions.
     
  • Drive continuous improvement and partner engagement through regular reviews and influencing partner and stakeholder roadmaps to meet business needs.
     
  • Own cost and performance optimization by setting KPI targets, leading budget planning, and identifying opportunities to reduce cost and improve efficiency.

What you need to be successful

  • 7+ years of overall experience, min 5 years in a Payments management role, and min 2 years in a senior role. Understanding of payment KPIs is a must (CPO, acceptance rate, routing performance), and cost optimization
  • Being responsible for at least 4 markets.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with a proven track record of managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders at least on a VP level.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent ability to analyze and resolve various payment issues, requiring collaboration with external partners and internal stakeholders.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Strong ability to work across regions and teams, collaborating with technical, product, and business teams to contribute to delivering high-impact initiatives as well as excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple strategic projects and balance between group oversight and regional needs, together with a proven track record in managing end-to-end partner relationships and contracts.

  • Market Awareness: Understanding of global and regional payment trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices, especially in high-growth markets.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of global and regional payments ecosystems, including PSPs, acquirers, wallets, and card schemes

  • Strong communicator and strong commercial acumen with experience leading RFPs, negotiations, and building business cases.

  • Ability to support product discovery, technical integration, and rollout planning
