Head of Accounting

We are looking for an ambitious Head of Accounting to join our Accounting Department and support the accounting functions.

You will need to have a solid operational and technical accounting background and work proactively to drive results. Our main mission is to support the Accounting department to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data and provide solutions to accounting and financial issues. This is a chance to be part of a rapidly growing team in a company that is changing the food delivery landscape.

What you’ll do:

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department

•  Supervise month-end and year-end close process

•  Review and recommend amendments to current internal procedures

•  Provide advice and assistance on Greek Accounting Standards

•  Ensure Tax Law compliance, i.e. VAT, WHT, Income Tax, Transfer Pricing

•  Communicate with Group Accounting

•  Monitor legislative and regulatory developments & communicate the effects to the management team

•  Identify and mitigate possible tax risks

•  Manage and coordinate tax audit and support statutory audits

What you’ll need:

• BA in Accounting/Economics or similar field

• A’ Class Accountant Signature

• Previous experience in leading a team will be mandatory

• At least 7 years of professional accounting experience, exclusively in a commercial retail/wholesale environment (Big4 experience will also be considered as long as it's not only in services)

• Completion or final stage participation in a relevant professional qualification (ACCA, ACA) will be considered a plus

• Computer literacy with Advanced MS Excel skills

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Team spirit and high sense of responsibility

• Flexibility and ability to solve problems

• Good sense of responsibility and commitment to confidentiality

• Highest levels of integrity

• Accuracy and attention to detail

• Able to perform under pressure and deliver results in a demanding and fast-paced environment that requires fresh thinking, innovation, and dedication
