About the opportunity

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant
  • 4+ years' relevant work experience, preferably in FMCG, retail, account and category management
  • Beer, Wine, Spirits category merchandising experience would be an advantage
  • Demonstrated track record of successful negotiations, influence and overall relationship management (both internal and external)
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability and desire to contribute to wider team performance and culture
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Great communication skills (both oral and written) are a must
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, fast learner of new tools

Who we are

The Manager, Category Management will be responsible for strategic planning, assortment development, pricing, promotions, supplier management, and overall P&L ownership for BWS categories within pandamart’s online grocery business.

  • Full P&L responsibility for the category, subcategory, including revenue, margin, wastage & other supplier income
  • Must develop and execute optimal category strategy, pricing, promotions, range, availability, and cost prices to expand both sales and margin
  • Ensure pandamart has the widest selection and best prices in the market through international sourcing, recruiting marketplace sellers and leveraging competitive intelligence
  • Work with existing vendor base to negotiate cost, funding and terms improvement, secure supplier marketing and advertising spend, develop new incentive programs, and ensure a reliable and operationally effective flow of goods to our fulfillment centre
  • Work to develop new sourcing and extended range to ensure we have high quality, good value goods available to our customers year-round
  • Employ data-driven decision making to drive the category. Provide insight to the head of merchandising and work closely with marketing and supply chain to forecast demand and ensure consistent supply
  • Partner with the Operations & Supply Chain team to manage inventory levels and wastage.
  • Contribute to pandamart growth by optimising and streamlining Category management. Help to design systems and processes to minimise time spent on day-to-day tasks and allow more time for strategic thinking
  • Work cross functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, Pricing, Strategy, Finance, and Marketing to deliver strategic projects allowing pandamart to offer the best customer experience
