Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cold Chain Infrastructure & Facility Planning Specialist to lead and optimize temperature-controlled supply chain infrastructure within our fast-growing Q-commerce and dark store network. This role combines technical expertise in cold chain logistics, MEP coordination, and facility design, with strong business acumen in budgeting, vendor management, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning and design of cold chain and warehouse infrastructure, ensuring operational efficiency and alignment with strategic growth targets.
• Utilize CAD tools to interpret, create, and modify technical layouts for dark stores, fulfillment centers, and refrigerated storage units.
• Oversee MEP coordination, layout execution, and ensure adherence to safety and compliance standards including the Egyptian Firefighting Code.
• Monitor project budgets and ensure delivery within financial constraints without compromising quality or timeline.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in cold chain processes to optimize temperature control, reduce operational costs, and enhance performance KPIs.
• Manage the construction tendering process including scope of work development, technical bid evaluations, contractor negotiations, and award recommendations.
• Liaise with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and facility readiness.
• Conduct technical assessments and performance reviews of third-party service providers.
• Provide technical guidance on HVAC, refrigeration, and thermodynamic systems relevant to cold storage operations.
• Collaborate with supply chain, operations, and procurement teams to support business expansion projects and optimize logistics infrastructure.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferably Mechanical Power)
• 7–10+ years of experience in:
• Cold chain logistics
• Warehouse or dark store planning
• Facility and MEP operations

Proven expertise in:

• CAD drafting & interpretation
• HVAC & refrigeration systems
• Tendering, budgeting, and vendor negotiations
• Strong understanding of Egyptian Firefighting Code and related health & safety regulations
• Excellent communication, coordination, and project management skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Project), AutoCAD, and relevant WMS/ERP systems

Preferred Experience:

• Prior work in Q-commerce, FMCG, or last-mile logistics
• Experience with rapid deployment of urban fulfillment centers or cold stores
• Exposure to lean operations, cost modeling, or Six Sigma practices is a plus
