About the opportunity

What's on your plate?

Commercial and Corporate Legal Affairs:

1. Contract Management:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and documents related to the Company’s business activities (services, suppliers, branding/marketing, leasing, vendors, confidentiality, IP, Corporate Social Responsibility, employment).

  • Assess potential legal risks and implications of contracts and bring them to management's attention.

2. Legal Advisory:

  • Provide expert legal advice on contractual, commercial, and legislative matters to business units and management.

  • Support in-depth legal analysis of company projects and business initiatives to identify potential risks and recommend compliance and mitigation solutions.

3. Corporate Governance:

  • Support research, drafting, and negotiation of legal documents related to Corporate Law, Commercial Law, Compliance, Contracts, Corporate Governance, and International Law.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, such as consumer protection, IP, food control regulations …etc

4. Document Preparation:

  • Review and draft legal notices and circulars for different business units.

Litigation Management:

1. External Legal Coordination:

  • Delegate and manage litigation cases or investigations with external law firms.

  • Provide necessary evidence or documents to support external law firms, collaborating with relevant business units.

2. Legal Risk Assessment:

  • Provide guidance on potential legal risks associated with lawsuits and/or investigations to management and stakeholders.

3. Local Law Firm Relations:

  • Cultivate relationships with local law firms for prompt and relevant counsel.

  • Seek assistance from local law firms in drafting and revising contracts posing regulatory or compliance risks.

Regulatory Affairs:

1. Regulatory Analysis:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of decisions, actions, or regulations initiated by local regulatory authorities that may impact the Company.

  • Provide recommendations to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.

2. Regulatory Response:

  • Manage or support in responding to inquiries and/or investigations by local regulatory authorities, liaising with external law firms as needed.

  • Represent the company before regulatory authorities when required.

3. Regulatory Compliance:

  • Evaluate regulatory authorization requirements and create compliance checklists for new products and projects as required.


What you need to be successful

What did we order?

  • Bachelor's degree in law from a reputable institution is mandatory. Additional qualifications such as an LLM are advantageous.

  • Minimum of Seven years of progressive experience in a legal role, preferably within an e-commerce or technology-driven industry or an international law firm.

  • In-depth knowledge of U.A.E laws and regulations, with a strong grasp of e-commerce, Competition, Intellectual Property, Data Protection, Companies, Judicial and court proceedings, and Criminal law.

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex projects and cross-functional teams, with excellent project management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, with the capacity to assess legal risks, analyze regulatory requirements, and develop practical solutions to mitigate compliance risks.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proactive, adaptable, and results-oriented mindset, committed to delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines and evolving regulatory environments.

  • Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
