About the opportunity

As Director of Product Counselling for foodpanda, foodora, yemeksepeti, you will build and manage a team conducting product counselling for the consumer facing platform used by Pandora brands. This role is mission-critical to establish effective legal support and control function within the consumer product lifecycle. 

You will lead a team of Product Counsels towards becoming critical business partners for product managers charged with producing world-class consumer-product; for local counsels charged with making sure that each product is fit-for-purpose in given jurisdiction and serving as a knowledge pool inside Pandora on all things consumer product compliance.

Tasks of the Product Counselling team among other things include ongoing (and project-based) product compliance; product counselling; product legal-localisation and roll-out (legal) coordination. 

Major responsibilities

Build and Oversee the Product Counselling Function

  • Establish and refine processes, templates, and structured workflows to ensure seamless legal support for product initiatives.

  • Collaborate with executive stakeholders to shape strategic direction, ensuring that legal requirements are integrated into the product development roadmap.

Lead and Manage a High-Performing Team

  • Recruit, mentor, and retain top product counsels; foster a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth and cross-functional synergy.

  • Embed the team into in-market legal controls and support processes to ensure efficient, localized legal advice.

Drive Comprehensive Legal Reviews and Localization

  • Conduct and oversee in-depth legal assessments of products across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Identify and communicate localization requirements and coordinate legal aspects of product rollouts in diverse markets.

Strategic Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with business stakeholders and product teams to co-plan and prioritize projects, balancing legal mandates with commercial objectives.

  • Represent Pandora’s interests in high-level discussions, potentially including engagement with regulators, industry groups, and other external stakeholders.

Risk Assessment and Decision Enablement

  • Assess and advise on legal risks, identifying potential negative scenarios, and quantifying their potential impact on the business.

  • Provide recommendations that facilitate informed, strategic decision-making at both the product and executive levels.


What you need to be successful

Experience & Expertise

  • Minimum 12 years of post-qualification experience (PQE), including 5+ years in the tech sector or at an international law firm.

  • Extensive background in product-focused legal advisory for consumer-facing platforms, with proven ability to navigate cross-jurisdictional matters.

Strategic Leadership & Communication

  • Demonstrable record of building and managing legal teams that align with product lifecycles and organizational objectives.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively advocate in high-stakes scenarios and influence senior/executive leadership.

Collaborative Mindset

  • Track record of successfully operating in multi-jurisdictional environments, fostering partnerships between legal, product, and business teams.

  • Ability to serve as a trusted advisor, co-creating solutions that satisfy both legal and business imperatives.

  • Deep understanding of how product organizations function, with experience as a key legal partner shaping product strategy and execution.
